Kondole

Kondole Centre (gymnasium)

The Kondole is the central community gathering hub for Encounter. It’s where our whole College community comes together for Opening and Closing Shine, celebrations, assemblies and large gatherings.

It is also our Sports hub, with a full-size basketball court, changerooms and toilets, kitchen and is the current home of our YMCA Out of School Hours Care program. Upstairs on the mezzanine are our instrumental tuition studios and classrooms.

The Kondole is our Gymnasium and was opened on 6 August 2010 by Ms Gay Thompson MP, Member for Reynell.

The name Kondole (or Kondoli) is reflected by our Ramindjeri heritage and means, 'The Whale Man'. You can learn more about the Story of Kondoli at https://sawhalecentre.com.au/the-story-of-kondoli/

Encounter Lutheran College acknowledges the Ramindjeri people of the Ngarrindjeri Country as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work and learn. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
