Belong at Encounter

Encounter Lutheran College offers Early Learning to Year 12 for families of the Fleurieu Peninsula. With approximately 800 students, we’ve worked hard to create a wonderful balance for our community of young people and their families. 

While we’ve established and maintain a strong sense of connection and belonging for all the students in our care, at the same time we offer contemporary facilities that enable us to offer learning opportunities that are rich and varied. We feel like it’s the perfect mix.

On a generous campus of 82 acres, our natural environment resonates with our families and our focus, with outdoor education, sustainability and a holistic approach to student learning and wellbeing upheld as intentional and valued aspects of who we are. We believe active, resilient young people will be motivated to remain that way in their adult lives, with strong foundations for life. 

We also want families to know the heart of our College is centred on Christ’s message of compassion, respect and love for all. Whether from a faith background or not, it’s also important for our families to feel welcome at Encounter. 

Encounter is fortunate to have a committed and balanced staff team, who strive to meet the academic, emotional, spiritual and social needs of each child in their care. They are invested in the learning and the welfare of each child and undertake ongoing professional learning and engage collaboratively with their peers to uphold high standards within and outside of the classroom.

With a strong emphasis on an inquiry-based, rigorous and contemporary approach to education, we value each learner and the unique journey they embark upon. Rather than learning being limited to what might be in a text book or on a website, students are encouraged to become open-minded, dynamic, passionate and compassionate learners, for today and their future..
