FOUNDATION (Reception) Transition Program

Encounter Lutheran College is excited to announce a new mid-year intake at Lighthouse Early Learning, which offers a seamless transition into our Foundation Program (Reception) at Encounter.

In response to the evolving needs of families and young learners, Early Learning is excited to offer mid-year intakes for Foundation (Reception) children. This decision reflects our commitment to providing flexible, developmentally appropriate entry points into school life.

Mid-year entry allows children who are ready to begin their school journey the opportunity to do so in a nurturing, play-based environment, located within Early Learning, that supports a smooth and confident transition into Foundation. It also enables families to make choices that best suit their child’s individual readiness and circumstances.  Our friendly staff can assist you with this.

• Play-Based Learning: A nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and foundational skills through hands-on, play-based experiences.
• Strong Focus on Wellbeing: Integration of social-emotional programs such as Kimochis and the Zones of Regulation to support emotional development.
• Buddy Program: Connection with older students to build confidence and a sense of belonging.
• Bush School Participation: Weekly outdoor learning experiences that encourage exploration and connection with nature.
• Smooth Transition to Full-Time Schooling: Carefully scaffolded routines and relationships to support a confident start to Foundation the following year.
