At Encounter, we believe that when we come together as a community, we create a place where everyone can connect, belong, and thrive — like one big family. Thank you for considering sharing your time, skills and care to support our College and its families.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to build connections, give back, and be part of something truly special. If you’d like to join us as a volunteer, simply complete the Volunteer Registration Form at the bottom of this page.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are so many ways you can get involved! From helping out at events, lending a hand in the classroom, or supporting special projects — there’s something for everyone.

Volunteer Requirements
Our volunteers are an important part of our Encounter family, and the wellbeing of our community is always our top priority. To ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone, all volunteers are required to complete a few simple steps:
- Read our Volunteer Code of Conduct and Child Safe Policy.
- Complete the Volunteer Registration Form at the bottom of this page.
- Attend a Volunteer Orientation Session.
- Provide an unrestricted Working With Children Check.
- Provide a certificate for Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (Fundamentals Only).
- If you’ll be helping with food, you may also need to complete a Food Safety Training Certificate (free and online).
Volunteer Orientation Sessions
We hold Volunteer Orientation Sessions regularly and can arrange a time that suits you. To book a session, please reach out to Nicola Harlow, People & Culture Manager, at people@encounter.sa.edu.au.
Looking After Our Volunteers
Our volunteers make such a difference to the life of our College community. We’re committed to making sure you feel valued, safe and connected while you’re with us. While volunteering for approved activities, you’ll be covered by our insurance in case of accident or injury. Any personal information you share with us will be managed in line with our Privacy Policy.
