A special invitation for families
Choosing your child’s first school is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make.
Our Twilight Tour is an opportunity to step inside Encounter, meet the people who lead and shape our learning community, and discover what makes our Junior School different.
You’ll meet our new Principal, Shane Jurecky, and Head of Junior School, Tori Weiss, and have the opportunity to ask questions about your child’s learning journey from the early years and beyond.
Meet our new Principal
Get to know Shane Jurecky
Come and meet Shane Jurecky, our new Principal, hear about his vision for Encounter and discover the kind of community he is helping to lead.
You’ll also meet Tori Weiss, Head of Junior School, and learn more about the nurturing, engaging and inquiry-focused environment we create for students from Foundation to Year 6.
Discover Bush School
Where learning comes alive outdoors
At Encounter, learning doesn't always happen inside a classroom.
Our Bush School program for Foundation and Year 1 takes learning into the natural environment at Wurar Ruwi, our 69-acre natural space adjoining the College.
Students explore, play, investigate and learn through hands-on experiences connected to the Australian Curriculum.
From literacy and numeracy to STEM, art and sustainability, Bush School gives children the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, creativity and problem-solving skills while connecting with nature.
Come and discover why we believe learning beyond the classroom matters.
Discover what it means to be an IB World School
Learning with a global perspective
Encounter is proud to be an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in our Junior School.
The PYP enriches the Australian Curriculum through an inquiry-based approach that encourages children to ask questions, investigate ideas, make connections and think deeply about the world around them.
It’s about more than what children learn.
It’s about how they learn, how they think and how they see their place in the world.
At Encounter, we nurture curious, creative and open-minded learners who are encouraged to become active participants in their education.
More than a school
At Encounter, we believe every child should feel known, valued and connected.
Our Junior School combines engaging learning with a strong focus on wellbeing, relationships and belonging. It is part of a seamless Early Learning to Year 12 journey on one campus, giving families continuity while their children grow.
It's a place that looks like school, feels like home.
