On Friday, 22 May, Encounter Lutheran College warmly welcomed grandparents and special friends from Early Learning to Year 7 for another memorable Grandfriends Day celebration.

One of the College’s favourite annual events, Grandfriends Day once again brought generations together in a joyful celebration of family, connection and community. The turnout was outstanding, with visitors filling the campus with laughter, conversation and plenty of proud smiles.

Guests enjoyed a heartwarming Shine gathering before touring classrooms, visiting the Book Fair and spending valuable time with their beloved “grandies”. Across the Junior School, special moments were shared as students proudly showcased their learning spaces and enjoyed creating treasured memories with their grandparents and special friends.

The day served as a wonderful reminder of the important role grandparents and special friends play in the lives of our young people. Their encouragement, wisdom and love continue to have a lasting impact on the upbringing and education of our students, enriching the strong sense of community that makes Encounter so special.

Encounter Lutheran College extends its sincere thanks to all those who attended and helped make Grandfriends Day such a meaningful and heartwarming occasion for everyone involved.

Encounter Lutheran College acknowledges the Ramindjeri people of the Ngarrindjeri Country as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work and learn. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
