Class of 2026 Year 12 Formal: A night to remember
By Julian Schubert | Marketing & Communications Manager
The Class of 2026 gathered on Friday 13th March to celebrate their Year 12 Formal at Blues Restaurant in Middleton, enjoying a beautiful night that marked a special milestone in their final year at Encounter Lutheran College.
Students arrived looking incredibly glamorous, with many making memorable entrances in a variety of classic and unique vehicles. As families and friends gathered outside the venue, there was a wonderful atmosphere of excitement and celebration while everyone enjoyed the warm, sunny evening and watched the students make their way down the red carpet.
Following their arrival, families had the opportunity to take photos with their Year 12 students, capturing the moment before heading inside the venue. Students were then welcomed with a complimentary drink and mocktail while spending some time with their families before the formal celebrations began.

Once parents had departed, the students gathered for a group photo before the evening officially got underway. In his welcome address, Principal Kelvin Grivell — attending his final Year 12 Formal as Principal of Encounter Lutheran College — shared a special message with the students.
“I wanted to welcome you to the 2026 Encounter Lutheran College Year 12 Formal. Congratulations on making it this far,” he said.
“And just as this is my last Encounter Year 12 Formal, this is your one and only, so for the next three hours, have the most wonderful time celebrating being together, being you, being the Class of 2026.”
Adding to the fun of the evening, College Captains Brodie Cross and Lola Turner presented the “Most Likely” awards to each of the Year 12 students, bringing plenty of laughter and light-hearted moments. Staff also had the task of selecting the best-dressed students for the evening.
Congratulations to Sullivan Gordon, who was named Best Dressed Male in a stylish safari suit, and to Chelsea Clay, who received Best Dressed Female.
Students then enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the team at Blues Restaurant before finishing the evening on the dance floor, celebrating together and creating memories that will last well beyond their final year.
The Class of 2026 looked fantastic, and it was wonderful to see them sharing such a special evening together.
