Dance Ultra Success for Encounter Dancers

A team of 37 talented Middle and Senior School dancers proudly represented Encounter Lutheran College at the Southern Heat of Dance Ultra, held recently at Immanuel College.
Competing against some of Adelaide's largest schools, our students embraced the challenge with confidence, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. Their hard work, commitment and passion for dance were evident in every performance, resulting in an impressive collection of individual and team achievements.
Year 12 student Chloe Rosser enjoyed an exceptional day, taking out first place in both the Lyrical Solo and Hip Hop Solo sections – a remarkable accomplishment against a highly competitive field.
Year 10 student Jasmine Hutchinson also impressed the judges, receiving an Honourable Mention for her Jazz Solo. Chloe Rosser, Zoe Baker and Maddy Centofanti (Year 12) were recognised with an Honourable Mention for their Lyrical Trio performance.
Our ensemble performances were equally successful. Encounter was awarded Second Place in the Open Musical Theatre (No Vocals) section for A Chorus Line Medley and Third Place in the Middle School Musical Theatre section for Oh My God, You Guys!.
The adjudicator also made special mention of the outstanding characterisation displayed by the Year 7–9 soloists in the Middle School Musical Theatre performance. Congratulations to Bonnie Nitschke, Olivia Hutchinson, Evie Miller, Oceana Harvey, Harriet Wegener and Imogen Hansford for this well-deserved recognition.
Chloe is now expected to qualify for the Dance Ultra Championship State Final on 14 August, and we wish her every success as she prepares to compete at the next level.
Congratulations to all of our dancers and the dedicated staff who supported them throughout their preparation. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Encounter Lutheran College with excellence, resilience and enthusiasm. Their performances were a wonderful reflection of the talent, creativity and spirit within our College community.
