Young Voices, Big Ideas: Year 6 PYP Exhibition
By Jacob Hambour | PYP Coordinator
On Wednesday 10 September, The Nest at Encounter Lutheran College was transformed as our Year 6 students presented their culminating Primary Years Programme (PYP) experience – the Year 6 Exhibition.
This annual collaborative experience marks the final step in their journey through both the PYP and ultimately, primary school, asking students to explore, document and share their understanding of an issue or opportunity of personal significance.
Our students inquired into important topics such as gender equality, habitat loss, climate change, plastic pollution, building connection through toys, and even the impact of AI. Over two sessions, they confidently spoke with more than 150 family and community members, showcasing their skills in communication, research and self-management – all central to the IB framework.
It was inspiring to see the passion, depth of understanding, and excitement with which our students shared their learning. Thank you to all families, staff, and community members who supported this special milestone in the journey of our Year 6 cohort.
